Activity # 1 - Notecard Questions
1. How did we figure out the meaning of the word Wanderlust on Monday? What did we do? Remember:
WANDERLUST may be encoded in his DNA. “If it’s in your blood, it’s impossible not to think the grass is maybe greener elsewhere,” Mr. Doig said. “Everything seems temporary. I went to nine different schools and never lived in a house for more than three years growing up.”
2. "Solve" the language problem on the doc cam with your classmates and teacher using the same methods.
3. Choose a notecard from the pile. Work with a partner to solve some of the language questions. Write your "solution" below the problem on the card. (10 mins)
4. Share some of your ideas with the class using the doc cam. I will post the other cards on the website. (5 mins)
Activity #2 - Writing Practice
1. Finish completing your peer feedback form. (5 mins)
2. Discuss your feedback with your partner. (10 mins total)
3. Look at the red circles on your essay. Work with your new partner to figure out how to improve the language in these areas. (15 mins)
4. Use the feedback and any additional reading you did about your topic to work on re-writing a final version of your essay. You may start at home, but there will be some time in class tomorrow to work.
