Activity #1 - The Question Box
1. Write 2 questions for your classmates, one on each index card (3 min)
2. Put your cards in The Question Box
3. Pull a question from the box to discuss with your partner. If you finish, take another! (5-8 min)

Activity #2 - U2 Debate
1. Discuss: "All press is good press" - do you agree? (5 min)
2. View the following brief video of Bono and U2 discussing why they released their new album on iTunes
3. Read the article about U2 and their release on iTunes. What do you think about it? (10 min)
4. With your group, discuss your articles (10 minutes)
5. Prepare your side of the debate:
a. YES, all press is good press, and, despite the complaints of some, overall this free release was a good move for U2.
b. NO, this was a PR disaster and U2's reputation has been damaged
6. Pair up with a friend from the opposite team and discuss!

Activity #3 - Describing Graphs & Charts
1. It's a professional skill! 2. Brainstorm with your partner some typical vocabulary you might use to describe a graph in a formal business or academic setting. |
3. You will receive a graph. Some are different from others. Using the vocabulary that we just brainstormed, write 2 sentences describing the graph. 4. Rotate papers clockwise and repeat - write 2 more sentences. 5. Peer editing -- How would you correct or improve the sentences? Write your suggestions on the paper. |
6. The next task will model the speaking part of tomorrow's test.
